I know this is a very unusual post for blog that is namely about politics. But for the past couple of months I have been wondering how to do this, but haven't been able to find any examples that showed how to do a LDU matrix factorization. So after finally figuring it out I decided to go ahead and post this for others who might looking for an example of it.

Establising Democracy vs. Tyranny

Recently many news stories have been writing about the demonstrations that have been occurring in Egypt. Many are wondering if the government will be overthrown in the near future. I think whenever a situation like this arises many people automatically imagine the result being the one that they would like to see. For instance, most people living in a democracies immediately conjure up images of the of people overthrowing a repressive regime in order to replace it with a democracy. Few consider the repressive regime that took over after the French revolution.

One of the things that I think makes the American war of independence unique from the French revolution is the fact that the American government for the most part was already set up. As a result there was no need to overthrow the government and enter into a period of anarchy. The same can't be said for the French revolution that required a new government to be formed amidst the chaos left in the wake of the former monarchy. The major difference between the revolutions is that the American one had the stability required to allow people think clearly about how they wanted their country to function, whereas the French was dependent on the people that were in charge of the military being willing to turn over power to the people at some point.

There are many reasons why stability is essential to establish and maintain a free country. There needs to be a knowledge that their will be an upcoming election in the near future. There needs to be enough security to ensure that the people won't be attacked when they go to vote. The system also needs to be set up in such a way to ensure that is no retaliation when the people vote in way that is abhorrent to the people in charge. In other words the people know that they have a peaceful means of changing the government, and that they can participate in that process with without fear of some sort of reprisal. The problem is that this almost never happens because of the anarchy that results after a government is overthrown.

Academia Scared of Technology

The title of this article couldn't be further from the truth.

After making such a bold statement they make no effort to reinforce it with evidence. For instance, they don't site any polls that show Americans are worried about technology. They point out trends of people buying or using less of this technology. They just assume that the this particular fragment of academia speak for all Americans which is absurd.

In reality I think this has a lot more to do with the age and general fear of change of these academics than anything else. I'd like to say that it is more of an age thing than anything else, but in reality many middle aged people have embraced this technology. Even older people are are starting to use it. I think this has more to do with a particular segment just having a general fear of technology. Or a desperate attempt to attract readers to their papers, and books.

My favorite portion of this this piece was when they noted an article from Atlantic Magazine with the title "Is Google Making Us Stupid?". One wonders how an author who can make such an absurd statement still has a job. I wonder what other articles he or she has written some guesses are: "Are Airplanes an Impediment to Travel", "Do Ovens Cause Food to Get Cold", "Does the Internet Slow the Transmission of Information". The fact that sites like Google, have been the greatest advancement in enabling ordinary people to access information seems to have escaped the author in a similar way that an elephant squeezes into a crowded elevator unnoticed.

For a long time I have been too busy to blog, but recently become interested in it again. I happened to be looking over my draft blogs and ran into this one.

Is it me or does it seem like there is a general fear of science, and religion in this. Don't trust Technology (despite the fact that it grows at an exponential rate). Don't trust God, God forbid we assume there is a higher authority than this professor. Clearly this guy doesn't want competition.

Their information is completely wrong, here are some places where they're off.
Man only causes destruction. They conveniently forget that before man intervened in nature there was nothing to stop Forrest fires. Which are a heck of a lot more destructive than logging.
People are starving because of lack of food. This is not true anyone who has knowledge of the green revolution that occurred over the 70's knows that because of new agriculture techniques just the United States itself produces more than enough food to feed the world. In fact many farmers in the U.S. are paid not to farm in order to keep the demand up. The people who the U.N. mentioned starved to death and were shown starving did so because the regimes in that area were using starvation as a means of keeping political control it's hard to fight when you're dying of starvation. I can't help but wonder why they didn't show pictures of starving Jews as well while they were at it.
Says population is unsustainable I like how they make this claim but show no supporting evidence, just scary looking images.
Global warming is helping contributing to this. Thus far the Global Warming hypothesis is unproven. And on shaky ground when you consider the world hasn't been heating for about ten years. Add to that the recent y blizzards that have been occurring at much higher levels around the world including areas that almost never snows it's really hard to say that there is such a thing as global warming these days.
When I first saw this video I thought that the guy talking was the leader of some kind of bizarre cult. But after looking into it I found out it's a professor at U.T..

Congresswomen Giffords Expected to Recover

I just ran into this story on the daily mail about the shooting of Gabrielle Giffords. So far this looks to be the only good news to come out of this event.

"A Congresswoman has been shot in the head after a man went on a gun rampage at a grocery store in Arizona, killing six and wounding a further 12.
Gabrielle Giffords was outside Safeway grocery store in Tucson, Arizona, when a gunman identified as Jared Lee Loughner - struck.
Witnesses said he walked calmly up to Mrs Giffords and fired at point blank range. Doctors said the bullet went 'through and through'."
"Incredibly, this afternoon the doctor operating on Mrs Giffords said she had survived the surgery and that he was 'very optimistic' for her recovery.
"'She's in critical condition,' Dr Peter Rhee said. 'The neurosurgeons have finished operating on her and I can tell you that in the current time period I am very optimistic about recovery ... she was following commands.'" Dailymail.co.uk

This says something about the the kind of medical technology we have these days.

Blacks take Heat for Being Conservative

I find it ironic that conservatives are accused of being racist when in fact the assumption that we are racist is itself. It's ironic that black conservatives also get an even worst treatment by Democrats.

I don't see why anyone would consider being called an Uncle Tom a insult. Anyone who has read Uncle Tom's cabin knows that the character Uncle Tom was a man who would rather die than allow a slave owner make him do something he thought was evil.

I hadn't heard of the Frederick Douglass Foundation before but I couldn't think of a better man to name a conservative group after. Frederick Douglass was a slave who escaped, and later became an articulate opponent of slavery. Here is a quote from his book My Bondage and My Freedom which can be downloaded at Gutenberg.org.

"The reader already knows enough of the HI effects of good treatment on a slave, to anticipate what was now the case in my improved condition. It was not long before I began to show signs of disquiet with slavery, and to look around for means to get out of that condition by the shortest route. If one doesn't consider which race the president is, or which party a certain race typically votes for, and only consider what each side stands for and what Frederick Douglas just articulated here than it's logical to conclude that if he were alive now he too would consider himself a conservative. One of the reasons I have a lot of respect for him is that during his life he didn't back down from his beliefs even at the risk of bodily injury, or the loss of freedom that he'd struggled his whole life for. It's interesting that modern black conservatives are conservative despite the risk of taking heat from racists as Douglas once did.

Obama Backs Discrmination

You'd think the first black president would be opposed to the idea that someone would be chosen over someone else because their skin happens to be a certain color, not Obama.

Granted you can't blame Obama for supporting it, that's the only reason he was able to make it into the White House. Obama's presidency is probably the best example of why affirmative action doesn't work.

Obama Undermining Cars

I wish I could say that I'm surprised to see that the Obama administration is trying to undermine cars, but that's not the case.

Personally I like the idea for making it easier for cyclists and pedestrians, but it's an idiotic idea to say that these forms of transportation are on par with cars. Those who think that bikes are just as good as cars ought to ask themselves whether it's practical for college students to drive a bike across a state state like Texas to visit home? Is it practical for a mother with three or four small children to commute with a bike? Can they imagine trying to buy a weeks worth of groceries home with a bike? What people who push bikes over cars don't realize is is how dependent we are on cars. If we were to suddenly get rid of cars many businesses, and colleges would be bankrupted over night.

It would be one thing if they just required bike lanes or sidewalks, but requiring that an equal amount of money be spent on cyclists as would be spent on cars is absurd. Bike lanes don't require the same kind of money as something like a freeway. What this will mean if implemented is that the price to do work on roadways will be doubled which will at the end of the day probably result in less being done on roads and will lead to a dramatic increase in rundown roads.

Castro: Obama trying to make Positive Changes

This is awesome. Apparently Obama has at least improved our image in Cuba.

So now the U.S. is popular in Venezuela, and in Cuba because according to Castro and Chavez Obama is moving the country in the correct direction. Sadly though we're losing popularity with freedom loving countries such as Great Britain, and Israel.

Obama: We're God's Partners in Matters of Life and Death

I'm not really surprised to see Obama say this since many of his followers treat him as though he were God. Thankfully I think America has woken up, if not a couple more comments like this should do the trick.

This is pretty consistent with what he's said in the past. Like when asked if a women would be able to get a pace maker.

Global Temperature Drops

This is devastating to the global warming hypothesis, since it predicts that the world should increase in temperature.

You might think what I'm saying is over the top but a hypothesis should be based on the real world if their models were worth anything they should would take into account the affects of El Nino, it's not like it's some new thing that has just been discovered. The fact that they didn't predict this really undermines their credibility. If I remember correctly according the the leading expert or at least advocate for the global hypothesis (Al Gore) said in his movie An Inconvenient Truth that the worlds temperatures are supposed to be going up exponentially, but in reality they are going down.

I think people for the most part have been exposed to the basic hypothesis for global warming, here's The Great Global Warming Swindle. It features many scientists several of them have Nobel peace prizes in science.

U.S. Borders Guarded by Mexico

This has got to be a joke.

"Mexico's Army took control of customs Sunday on the busy US border, as federal authorities pulled agents off the job in a massive anti-corruption shakeup, officials told AFP.
An Interior Ministry official said the dismissals were being carried out at all Mexican border facilities, and that the customs agents were being replaced.
Customs agents were sacked after some were found to be linked to contraband operations, according to sources at the ministry.
Agents in Nuevo Laredo, on the border with the southern US state of Texas, were called in Saturday to be told they were fired, and to hand in their badges and weapons. A total of 1,100 agents were sacked, Mexican media said.
Army troops took over customs border posts temporarily on Sunday.
Mexico and the United States share a border that stretches across some 2,000 miles (3,220 kilometers) and are partners with Canada in the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
Mexico is in the midst of a raging war on organized crime, and has expressed serious concern about US weapons crossing into the country.

So for all intents and purposes the U.S. Mexican border is or was completely open to anything related to drug Cartels. It's well known that many members of the Mexican military work for the drug cartels. They often end up gunning it out with our border patrol when they are trying to smuggle drugs into America.

I suppose that they were in a bit of a bind they had just discovered that many border patrol agents had been bribed by the drug cartels and they needed to be replaced. It's too bad that we don't have militia's that can come in in a situation like that and patrol the border. These militia's primary job could be to guard the states and also help out in emergencies. Oh that's right it's called the national guard. It's understand why they didn't simply have the national guard temporarily take the place of the agents who were being replaced.

But then again if Obama is naive enough to believe that Mexico's cartels are being supplied by U.S. gun shops. After all what gun shop doesn't sell fully automatic military grade weapons? What drug lord wouldn't pay more to buy guns none military grade guns from gun shops, and than pay to have them smuggled across the border when they can't get military grade weapons shipped straight to their country. I'm sure these guys who are capable of sneaking shiploads of Cocaine into the U.S. border just can't figure out another way to get guns to their cartels. Their job would be a lot easier if their were gun dealers who made a living selling Russian military weapons from places that are inundated with them (such as Columbia).

NBC Sells Obama T-Shirts

I'm not surprised at all by this. Anyone who has watched any of the old media in the last couple of years knows that that the old media is a tool of the Democrat party.

Personally, I don't mind seeing this happen as long as people are honest about their bias. Back in Lincoln's day people knew exactly what kind of bias they were getting since the parties owned the different papers. So people knew when they picked up a parties paper they'd get news that was biased toward that party. As opposed to these days where the companies try to hide their bias.

ABC Worried for Obama's Safety or his Bill?

You have to love this. It should be noted before reading this story that this is the same news network that didn't broadcast news about a month ago so that Obama could could their station to run an ad for his health care plan. If that doesn't indicate a certain amount of bias I don't know what does. Also a fun thing to do when reading stories by the old media is to change out the word expert for liberal that's really what they mean.

The crazy people who the secret service investigates to the majority of Americans who don't like the idea of having Bureaucrats determine whether or not they're worth treating. My question now is where was the concern for Bush's safety when Liberals were running around hanging Bush in Effigy, making movies and books, and other examples too numerous to mention about Bush being assassinated? Add in all the terrorists, and communists who wanted and still do want him dead.

After reading ABC's story it's clear that their point is that Americans who don't sit quietly by while Obama does whatever he wants to do are no different than crazy people who want to kill Obama. Personally, I think it's sick that a so called news network would try to guilt trip people into giving up their first amendment rights just because they are in the tank for Obama.

Michele Bachmann: Describes Gangster Government

What she describes reminds of communism, I've heard in communist countries you have to have connections to government officials if you want to be to quickly get things like housing cars, etc.. without having to wait in line. In this case it's about getting approval from the government so that you can run your business.

The more I think about it it does sound like something out of the Godfather ordinary people have to ask permission of the local gangster before they are allowed to run a business on his turf.

French Pool Bans Wearing Burqini Women Sues

This is one that I at first wasn't sure about.

"A Paris swimming pool has refused entry to a young Muslim woman wearing a "burqini," a swimsuit that covers most of the body, officials said Wednesday.

The pool ban came as French lawmakers conduct hearings on whether to ban the burqa after President Nicolas Sarkozy said the head-to-toe veil was "not welcome" in secular France.

Officials in the Paris suburb of Emerainville said they let the woman swim in the pool in July wearing the "burqini," designed for Muslim women who want to swim without revealing their bodies." Breitbart.com

I think that women should be able to wear what they want when they swim as long as it's not indecent (which this clearly isn't), or causes any damage. With that said pools also have the right to decide what kinds of clothing can be worn in their pool. In this case the pool had a rule against be fully clothed. The rule was probably put in place to prevent the pools filtration system from being damaged. I know many public pulls won't allow to you where a t-shirt in the pool for that reason.

The more I think about it the more I tend to side with the pool. Women who want to wear a Burqini are still free to do so, just not at pools that have rules against being fully clothed. When it comes down to it what right does this women have to come along and demand a swimming pool damage it's filtration system because she doesn't want to reveal any skin?

They said somewhere in the article that this isn't even a Muslim swimsuit. So lets just say that the Muslims decide that these Burqinin's are an abomination, and that you can only swim if you wear a full Burqa. Would it be right to force the swimming pools to allow this as well?

The damage argument aside lets say there's a nudist pool that only allows people to swim if they're completely nude (it's Europe after all right). Do these women also have the right to force such a pool to allow them to swim fully clothed? As I pointed out earlier these women can always go to another pool. She can't claim this is segregation because it's self imposed.

Obama Compares His Plan to the Post Office

You have to love this, it's as though he were arguing against universal health care. He's basically saying that the quality of health care will be on par with the quality of the U.S. postal service.

Granted his point was that if private business could work side by side with the postal service than private health care providers could work along side universal health care. The problem here is the assumption that we won't have to pay extra taxes to pay for this. That just simply is not going to happen. This health care plan is just simply too big and expensive for it's users to be able to pay for it. He knows if he says that there are going to be huge tax increases to pay for it less people will support it. So he's lying in the same way he lied about cutting taxes for 95% of Americans.

Companies simply aren't going to pay for their employees to get health care and pay the taxes for universal health care. They'll just simply say use the universal health care we're not providing health insurance anymore.

CNN Linda Douglas Interview

The main reason I'm posting this is that it's not everyday that I see a CNN reporter do a good job of interviewing someone. It's something I think needs to be lauded when it happens, although they probably know where the public stands on health care and know it's in their best interest not to try and sell it.

I like the point he makes about using Obama's actual words, he's absolutely right about that. There's no way you can misrepresent Obama by playing a clip that was taken of him running for president saying that he wants to socialize medicine. Now that he is president he pushing a health care plan that he claims isn't intended to socialize medicine. If what he's saying is true than has suddenly changed his position.

Now it would be one thing if Obama and Ms. Douglas were saying that he'd changed his position (not that that would be believable). But that isn't the case, Ms. Douglas is saying that Obama is being consistent. The only way he can be consistent with what he said in the video is to want to socialize medicine.

State Run Hospitial Declares Living Baby Dead

When I started reading this story I was at first shocked that a doctor could be so incompetent. But then I came across a line that clarified everything.

"A premature baby declared dead by doctors was found to be alive hours later when he was taken home for a funeral wake.
The baby's father, Jose Alvarenga, was told by doctors that his son had died shortly after birth.

Staff from the state-run hospital in Asuncion, the Paraguayan capital, delivered the infant's body to Mr Alvarenga's home fours hours later.

Shortly afterwards, the grieving father opened the baby's coffin to bid an emotional farewell to his son.
"I opened it to look at his remains and found that the baby was breathing," Mr Alvarenga said. "I began to cry."" Dailymail.co.uk

I'm not surprised to find out that this was a state run hospital. At least they didn't make them wait in line when they returned.

This sounds like criminal negligence to me.

W.H. Asks Americans Report Conversations

Not too long ago I started hearing people joking about how such talk show was acting suspiciously and how they were going to have report them to the government. My first reaction was that this was some homeland security thing that was being taken out of context, as often happens in the course of political debate. So I went to the White House Website to see what they had actually said.

This really doesn't surprise me.

One of the reasons this doesn't surprise me is a while back I did research on the Hippocratic oath and found that their were several of them out their. The one that caught my attention was the Modern Hippocratic oath which if I remember correctly written for doctors in Europe, so that could Euthanize patients and perform abortions. The part that sticks out is the following.

"I will respect the privacy of my patients, for their problems are not disclosed to me that the world may know. Most especially must I tread with care in matters of life and death. When it comes down to it the difference between our system of medicine and a socialized system is the way the systems value human life. Our system looks at it from a christian philosophy which views human life as being intrinsically valuable because God created it. Whereas a socialized system is based on a utilitarian philosophy which views a persons life as being valuable based on what he or she can do. One treats people as though they are people the other treats them like they are a machines that depreciate with time.

Wow check this out. This doesn't surprise me. Science very clearly shows that the unborn baby is a human being. As hard as abortion supporters try to suppress science it eventually gets out. I think it will only be a matter of time before abortion goes the way of slavery.

What I love about this whole thing is that it means that what the Democrats were and probably are willing to go along with things that they consider to be torture. Whether or not waterboarding is torture is irrelevant in this case, because the Democrats thought that it was. Therefore the fact that they went along with it means that they were ok with torture being used. The same thing can't be said for Repubicans because they didn't consider it to be torture.

I think most people would agree that doing something you think is wrong, even if it turns out to be aright is still wrong; whereas doing something that you think is ethical is better even if you later find that it wasn't. The former doesn't care that what they are doing is wrong, the same can't be said for the later. In this case the action in question happens to be the same.

This has got to be one of the most hateful things I've heard in a while. What disgusts me most about it is how Obama reacted to it.

He actually laughs when Wanda Sykes says she hopes Limbaugh's kidney's fail, that's downright sick. He should have been outraged by it. It's sick to joke that someone would die just because they don't want your candidates plans to succeed. Rush simply said he didn't want Obama to succeed because he disagreed with his plans. He didn't say he wanted America to fail, no he wanted the opposite. He also didn't say or joke about Obama or anyone else to having poor health or death.

I know some people say that Obama didn't think it was funny he was just trying to be polite. This still doesn't excuse him laughing at it. He didn't have to laugh, but he still did. It's classless to make jokes like that or to laugh at jokes like that. In my social like I don't tolerate jokes like that. You'd expect a president to have more class than that.

PETA Kill Most Adoptable Pets

I've known for a while that PETA isn't what most people think they are. They aren't here to stop animal cruelty, they're here for animal freedom. They think that animals shouldn't be owned as pets. Thus they would rather kill animals than see them as pets.

They think that animals are equal to humans so deserves the same rights as we have. Because of that they think animals shouldn't be caged. So if they got their way lions, tigers and bears would be run lose on the streets. They also think that animals should be able to vote as well. I guess they don't think they life is equal to humans otherwise I don't see why they would kill them like they do. So it seems like there's a some inconsistency in their beliefs.

Human Achievement Hour

I agree with what they are saying about Earth hour. The idea of it is is to make us feel guilty about human achievements. It's designed with the idea in mind that technology is bad, and needs to be done away with.

But in reality this isn't the case technology has done great things for mankind. We need to remember that our world would be a very different place if we hadn't come up with ways dangerous whether, and or dangerous animals. In fact, without technology mankind probably wouldn't have even survived.

I just saw this story about people working themselves into a lather because the Pope hasn't changed the Catholic Churches stance on condoms.

After reading this article I can't help but conclude that it's no wonder I've never heard of this news group before. This news story is a joke, even the MSNBC is less biased than this. They only have one quote in it that supports what the Pope.

The other thing I noticed was their logic is flawed. In case they forgot the Catholic Church also hasn't changed it's stance about sex outside of marriage. The Popes detractors seem to assume that people will reject the churches stance on sex within marriage, but yet feel beholden to the churches stance on condoms.

Joaquin Phoenix Attacks Heckler

I have to admit it's a little odd to post this since I have no clue what this guys is famous for other than being drugged up on David Letterman.

I find it kind of funny that he was bragging about how much money he had in his bang account just before attacking the heckler. Personally I think the last thing you ought to do before attacking someone is brag about how much many you have in your bank account since the first thing they will probably do afterwards is sue you. I won't be long before that heckler will be heckling him again, this time saying that he has a million dollars of Joaquin Phoenix's money in his bank account.

To say the least this guy has got problems, and really ought to be put in a drug rehabilitation facility.

Earth Hour

Anyone who knows even a little about how power is produced knows that this idea has some major problems.

For the sake of argument lets just say that they do have substantial number of people do this (rather than just claiming to to look like they care). And that this ends up causing people to substantially lower their usage of power for an hour. In other words everything works exactly as they've planned. Would they actually save energy and cut pollution?

The answer is no. The problem with this is that's it's only an hour. Power plants don't instantaneously adjust their output based on demand. It takes time for them to be able to change their rate of power generation. For instance, a nuclear power plant can take a day or two to adjust it's rate of output. Because of this power companies often will use gas and coal plants with nuclear plants because gas and coal plants can be adjusted faster. But even then they require around half an or so hour to be adjusted. So by the time the power companies adjusted to the new demand they would be immediately have to start firing their plants back up to get ready for the imminent increase in demand that would occur when the dimwits turned their lights back on. So even if this worked out exactly as planned they would only succeed in wasting energy that will be produced whether or not their lights are on.

Not only that they would cause pollution to go up by doing things like lighting candles, which are also far less efficient than light bulbs. If you doubt this consider that efficiency is the desired effect divided by the power required. Now compare the amount of light produced by a light bulb to a candle, the bulb clearly produces more light. Then compare the amount of heat (wasted energy) produced by the two. The candle clearly produces more heat. Therefore for far less wasted energy the light bulb produces far more light. It's no wonder that the bright folks are leaving their lights on.

Obama: No Moral Values in Science

This is one of the worst slogans I've heard in a while.

So basically his premise is that all science is good science. Offhand people are tempted to agree with that since they typically hear science referred to in positive ways. It's always science helps improve peoples lives, science may cure certain type of illness or cancer. Rarely do we hear any negative stories about science, so it's easy to assume all science is good science.

So a lot of unethical things could be considered science. Without "moral values" pretty much anything goes. What's funny is even Obama doesn't agree with himself. He quickly goes on to contradict himself.

Obviously if "moral values" have no place in science than Obama can't say that cloning is wrong. The real point of him using this slogan is that he's trying to dodge the an argument about the morality of stem cell research. When someone says it's immoral to do stem cell research he can say morals have no place in science, then when it's convenient he says that things like cloning are immoral.

If this is the rate that they spend per month than the debt will be about 58 trillion dollars by the time Republicans can be elected back into congress.

The invention of the Wii has drastically changed the way kids play and think about video games. This has lead to a newer, smarter, more athletic generation that some now call Generation Wii. Sadly though, millions of generation Wii still don't have a Wii. Leading scores of unfortunate kids to be bored and unpopular.
Countless have been degraded into playing in aging playgrounds.
Often times with no one to play with, in dirty abandoned parks.
It doesn't have to be this way though.
With your help, and a small donation of thirty dollars a day, a kid can be provided with such essentials as: a Wii, consuls, games and whatever other new accessories their little heart desires. Is thirty dollars a day too much to prevent a kid growing up bored, and lonely? Please help.

New Pro-Life Ad Banned From Superbowl

Apparently this ad is a bit too much for NBC to air during the Superbowl.

"Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- NBC is coming under fire from pro-life advocates for rejecting a television commercial a pro-life group hoped to run during the Super Bowl. The ad shows a beautiful picture of an unborn child during an ultrasound and asks what would happen if President Barack Obama had been a victim of abortion.
The commercial, a popular one in recent weeks within the pro-life movement, is sponsored by the pro-life Catholic group Fidelis and its CatholicVote web site.

After several days of negotiations, an NBC representative in Chicago told the group late yesterday that NBC and the NFL are not interested in advertisements involving "political advocacy or issues."" LifeNews.com

The Lifenews article goes on to say that PETA would have been allowed to air an ad if they'd toned down the sexual content on it. I don't see why they won't air this ad, there's nothing negative in it. In fact it portrays Obama in a positive way while undermining his position. I have to admit that I can't think of a political ad coming on during any of Superbowl's that I seen in the past, but I'm going to keep a look out for it now.

I think this ad is a great step forward for pro-life advocacy. This is an ad which really brings the point across well. They are doing a good job of airing it as well. By putting in on during the inauguration and having it on BET. It's also ironic that the it's uses a man who is staunchly against allowing babies to be protected by the law, to advocate for them being protected by it. It does exactly what a pro-life ad should do, shows how inherently beautiful and precious life is.

Off hand I can't help but wonder who this unnamed diplomat is. It's no surprise that he thinks this will spawn peace. Ironically there aren't any unnamed diplomats who say this is reminiscent of Chamberlains treaty with Hitler. A treaty that we all know prevented World War II and saved millions of lives.

Baby Body Thrown Away with Garbage

I just saw this story on the Drudge Report.

"Police are searching garbage dumps in New Jersey and Pennsylvania for the body of a baby that was apparently thrown out with the trash at Jersey City's Christ Hospital.
Hospital spokeswoman Barbara Davy said the baby was stillborn on Dec. 21 and the body was placed in the hospital morgue. The body was gone when a funeral home employee came to pick it up on Jan. 2." NBC Newyork.com

In general I think this says something about how abortion has lowered our respect for humanity. Yes this wasn't a person, because the baby wasn't alive, but that's not the point in this story. The point is that someone was able to think that a baby's corpse was just simply trash. Would that same person make the same mistake for an adult corpse? No of course not why because hospitals don't normally throw out adult bodies.

The reason that the worker was able to make this mistake with the baby is that it's standard procedure for the bodies of babies to be thrown out with the garage after they are aborted. It's clear what happened was that the hospital worker, being unable to tell the difference between the body of a baby that had been aborted, and a one that died soon after birth thought thought it was from an abortion and disposed of it the way they normally do for an abortion. There's no other logical reason for him or her to think the body should have been thrown out with the garbage.

We shouldn't be too surprised when stories like this come out. It's only natural that things associated with the abortion world will occasionally spew into the normal world. In retrospect this really isn't the worst thing that could have happened by a worker getting mixed up about whether or not they are dealing with abortion.

Israel Bombing Mosques

I'm really glad Israel started putting up youtube video's. In this one they explain why they've had to bomb several mosques recently.

I think it says something about how cowardly an enemy is when they aren't willing to fight like men. Instead they hide behind women and children. They take places of worship and convert them into ammo dumps.

Personally, I say if you want a thing or a group to be considered a noncombatant than don't make it or them a combatant. You can't have it both ways. A great example of this was in world war II when Japan declared that every man women and child would fight the Allies that invaded them. When they did that they basically declared that they didn't have any civilians. But yet to this day that doesn't stop them from claiming that the atomic bombs were dropped on civilians. That claim would have been true if the atomic bombs had been dropped prior to them making that declaration, but not afterward.

It looks as though Israel finally had more than they could take from the Palestinians gutless attacks, and has finally responded after days of warning them to cease fire.

As usual Homas has predicted they would win with typical consequences.

Russia Hurt by Low Gas Prices

I've heard that the low gas prices have been hurting the oil companies, but I hadn't even thought of how it was affecting countries whose economies are solely depended on oil, such as Russia and a good chunk of the Middle East.

Planned Parenthood Caught Again

I went ahead and did a little research on this, and it looks as though it's true despite that Planned Parenthood has over a billion dollars in assets and typically makes a billion dollars a year.

Again this isn't new, Planned Parenthood has been caught doing this many times. I've blogged about it several times now. The last time I wrote about this I noted a couple of occasions in which they had been caught, and showed how they responded to a recent one. Here are all the posts I've written about Planned Parenthood so far.

What I'm wondering is is how their supporters respond to this. Will they simply say that this is a rare occurrence that is being blown out of proportion? With as many times as Planned Parenthood has been caught doing this that excuse really isn't accurate anymore. Even if it were rare, how would people treat a national daycare chain that was caught even once protecting pedophiles? How would people treat if if it started happening every now and then? Would people just simply say well it's a rare thing, I think I'll still take my kids there. Would people be fine with having their taxes used to pay for it? Would the press be quiet about it? Actually now that I think about it this a pretty good question.

The sad thing is that Planned Parenthood will continue to get away with this since the liberal media is unwilling to report it. I guess a multi-million dollar organization repeatedly hiding sex offenders and exploiting children just isn't news these days.

This makes you wonder how little people value human life. I would hope that the people who took part in this are now wondering whether it was worth it. Whether it was worth it to kill someone so that they could save a few bucks on a present. Sadly enough the kind of people who would do something like this probably blame it on the guy. They probably think he was stupid for getting in their way or something along that line. With some people nothing matters but themselves. And nothing should get in the way of them getting what they want.

I would hope that some of these people are prosecuted. Rather than blaming this on Wal-Mart they need to prosecute the people who were responsible for this. They need to use the security camera's to see who took part in tearing down the door, who pushed the guy over, and who failed to render him help. They can get these people on many charges easily for instance; breaking and entering, assault, and even second degree murder. They need to make a example out of these people. So that when people get into large groups realize if they take part in a mob they will be held accountable.

Impeaching Bush

Wow, I just read a piece from Rochelle Riley advocating impeaching Bush. I'm not surprised that liberals are advocating this. They can't stand that nothing has happened to him despite their irrational rage towards him.

Personally, I hope they do try and impeach Bush. If it succeeded the result would be almost comical. Bush would leave Dick Cheney would take his place, and two or three days later Obama would be sworn in. That's assuming the impeachment happened really quickly. If not a awkward situation would arise when Bush's term ended before while the impeachment was going on. They would look stupid for trying to impeach a president whose term had already ended.

It would help Republicans by causing people to feel sympathetic for Bush. Even though there are always small groups of people who believe wild conspiracy theories, most don't. Most people would be appalled to see a president impeached for trying to prevent what intelligence considered to be a potentially very dangerous situation from arising (i.e. Saddam with a atom bomb). Republicans in congress would be inspired to bitterly fight Democrat bills. It would also be a rally cry for Republicans during the mid tern election.

Obama would look either incapable of leading when he failed to prevent the impeachment from happening, or he'd look just as petty for sitting by while it occurred. People wouldn't be talking about what they expected Obama's presidency to be like, they'd be talking about whether or not it right to have such a late impeachment. People wouldn't remember Obama for trying to start a positive change, but for sitting by while congress wasted their time trying to avenge an old political adversary.

Obama Pledges Bankrupt Coal Industry

When I first heard about this I immediately thought of all the workers who would be affected by the coal industry going under. But then they made a good point that 45% of our energy comes from coal. Yes in 10 or twenty years we'll have a lot more nuclear plants (that is unless Obama has plans to dismantle those as well). Even then, I doubt they are building those with the idea that we will lose all of our coal plants.

So then what will we do for electricity? We sure aren't going to replace the power produced by coal plants from solar or windmill. The most obvious reason is that they don't produce enough power. The second is they produce a inconsistent amount of power. Which means when a bunch of windmills are strung together they also build a coal plant that can come on and produce power for the windmills when the wind isn't blowing. If your wondering the amount of power produced by power plants is too much to stored. They don't have batteries capable of doing this.

Another thing that coal plants do is they are used to assist Nuclear plants. Coal power plants and natural gas plants are easy to start up so can be used intermittently when power fluctuates. Whereas it would take a day or two to adjust a nuclear plant for the increase of power that is needed during certain parts of the day.

So not only would this affect the plants that are stand alone plants and ones that occasionally assist nuclear plants, but would also affect Green Energy production as well. This is a very foolish and naive idea. This guy clearly doesn't know anything about power.

Recently I've been doing what all other political junkies do after a debate, see how the candidates did factually. This is something that seems to be a lot more political than it was in the past.

For instance now that liberal networks no longer hide there bias they are free to let themselves go when they do this. Here MSNBC says they have found twelve inaccuracies.

A clip from a debate that took place on Foxnews finds shows that Biden had at least fourteen statements that were factually incorrect.

But by far the most damning lie that I have found is the one where Biden said that Obama had never said that he would talk to Ahmadinejad without preconditions. I knew at the time that it was incorrect, but it's always great to have proof.

Why Abortion is Unconstitutional 2 of 2

The last time I wrote about this I pointed out how Lincoln proved that the Supreme Court didn't have the power to make changes to the constitution. Therefore the justices have to prove that their interpretation of the constitution is constitutional.

When the Roe V. Wade opinion was written the point of it was to legalize abortion. In order to do this Blackmun had to abridge the Fourteenth Amendment so that it protected only a select group of people rather than all people. Once that was done he could say that the women had the right to an abortion because it didn't interfere with anybody's rights.

Section 1 Fourteenth Amendment

"Section 1.
All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws." National Archives Amendments 11-27

In first chunk of the opinion Blackmun rambled on about the reasons for outlawing abortions, and how the country's abortion laws had changed. Then he correctly pointed out that if the unborn child is considered a person then his or her right to life trumps the right of the women not to be inconvenienced by pregnancy.

"A. The appellee and certain amici argue that the fetus is a "person" within the language and meaning of the Fourteenth Amendment. In support of this, they outline at length and in detail the well-known facts of fetal development. If this suggestion of personhood is established, the appellant's case, of course, collapses, [*157] for the fetus' right to life would then be guaranteed specifically by the Amendment. The appellant conceded as much on reargument." Books.google.com

From that point on he started making up excuses for why the unborn baby shouldn't be protected by the Fourteenth Amendment. First he stated that no one knows when life begins, which was a lie even at that time.

"Texas urges that, apart from the Fourteenth Amendment, life begins [***181] at conception and is present throughout pregnancy, and that, therefore, the State has a compelling interest in protecting that life from and after conception. We need not resolve the difficult question of when life begins. When those trained in the respective disciplines of medicine, philosophy, and theology are unable to arrive at any consensus, the judiciary, at this point in the development of man's knowledge, is not in a position to speculate as to the answer." This statement is a lie because biologists have long ago defined a cell to be the most basic unit of life. At the moment of conception the unborn child is made up of cells that contain a complete set of human DNA that is different from either parent.

At this point Blackmun acted as though the constitution was the dictionary of the land rather than the law of the land.

"The Constitution does not define "person" in so many words. Section 1 of the Fourteenth Amendment contains three references to "person." The first, in defining "citizens," speaks of "persons born or naturalized in the United States." The word also appears both in the Due Process Clause and in the Equal Protection Clause. "Person" is used in other places in the Constitution: in the listing of qualifications for Representatives and Senators, Art. I, ß 2, cl. 2, and ß 3, cl. 3; in the Apportionment Clause, Art. I, ß 2, cl. 3; n53 in the Migration and Importation provision, Art. I, ß 9, cl. 1; in the Emolument Clause, Art. I, ß 9, cl. 8; in the Electors provisions, Art. II, ß 1, cl. 2, and the superseded cl. 3; in the provision outlining qualifications for the office of President, Art. II, ß 1, cl. 5; in the Extradition provisions, Art. IV, ß 2, cl. 2, and the superseded Fugitive Slave Clause 3; and in the Fifth, Twelfth,and Twenty-second Amendments, as well as in ßß 2 and 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment. But in nearly all these instances, the use of the word is such that it has application only postnatally. The problem with this is that it's not the job of the constitution to define the words that it is made up of. Words by themselves have their own meaning. A good example this is that word "sex" isn't defined in the constitution and only appears in the 19 amendment. If what he suggested were correct then the 19 amendment would be meaningless. If he was confused about what the meaning of "person" was he should have looked it up in a dictionary.

What Blackmun did by asserting that the constitution must explicitly state what it means by person, is narrow down the group of people who are protected by the Fourteenth Amendment. By doing that he contradicted the whole point of the fourteenth amendment, which was designed to give broad protection to all the people who are in this country. The idea was to prevent a future chief justice of the Supreme Court or legislator from saying that a certain group people didn't have any rights because of some technical reason, the way Roger B. Taney did in the Dredd Scott case.

In other words the Roe V. Wade decision is unconstitutional because it denies a group of people access to due process of the law by saying that the Fourteenth Amendment doesn't apply to them. Likewise the act of abortion is unconstitutional since it infringes on the a preborn's right to life.

I can't help but think of Barack Obama when I think of the "sunshine patriot". It's one thing to make speeches that sound nice it's another thing to stand up for something that you believe in when things get tough. If there ever was a sunshine politican it's Obama.

Another thing that comes to mind when I read this are what the revolutionary war soldiers went through at that time. The "price" of freedom wasn't cheap many of those soldiers would starve or freeze to death while moving from one battle field to another, often times barefoot with little clothing. Thamas Paine was right those soldiers do deserve our "love and thanks", as do the soldiers who have kept the freedom they gained.

The Media's Cellphone Witchhunt

Initially I intended for this to be a part of my last post. But I realized that it would be too big if I had it all together.

As I mentioned in my last post I thought that this story was a great illustration of how the media ignored all the other reasons for the wreck so they can hone in on cellphones. The problem seems to be that we have forgotten that there are other distractions other than cellphones. People do all sorts of stupid things while driving: eating, drinking, shaving, putting makeup on. I even once saw someone driving through a suburban neighborhood putting in contact lenses! But yet according to the media the worst drivers to ever roll the earth are those people to happen to answer the phone while driving.

What I think is interesting about the whole cellphone thing is how research has shown that the most distracting thing about a cellphone is the conversation. After saying this people will typically say that we need to ban using cellphones while driving, even the hands free ones. My problem with this is that it's a disproportionate reaction. If the conversation is the real problem shouldn't we also ban having conversations while driving? Or maybe put a law in place that says cars can only have one passenger. I think it's ironic that the same people who push for banning cellphones will also say with a straight face that we need to have more carpooling.

Drinking, Texting, and Speeding?

I just saw this on Foxnews.com with the headline:
"Girl in Fatal Wreck Sent Text Message Moments Before Crash"

When I checked out the story I found that there was a little more going on than the headline indicated.

"HIGHLAND, Calif. — Authorities say a 16-year-old girl who died after losing control of her car had been texting on her cell phone moments before the accident.

Kayla Preuss, of Highland, was driving on the Interstate 10 Freeway in Redlands when she lost control of her car and crashed. She died of head injuries.

Authorities say Preuss had been driving drunk and was speeding. But another factor may have contributed to the crash." Foxnews.com

I love how they are trying to make a big deal about the part that the cellphone played in this. It's as though cellphones were the only reason people get into accidents these days. Something tells me that simply drinking and speeding would have been more than enough to cause an accident like this while driving. Anyone who sees that last line can clearly see that this is a recipe for disaster. Now my point here isn't that it's safe to text while driving (it's probably worst than drinking) it's to point out how the media makes it look as though using a cellphone is the worst thing that you can do while driving.

I feel sorry for the family of the girl and a little for the girl who was clearly too immature to be driving. At least no one else was hurt by this girls stupidity.

S-Dakota closes Last Abortion Clinic

Abortion will one day be looked at with the same infamy that slavery now is once people are better educated about it.

Abortion Logic

There are some people who have the rare gift of being able to show how idiotic they are every time they say something, George Carlin is one of those people. Recently I was on a pro-life Facebook group and saw that some abortion supporter (than again it could have been a pro-lifer making fun of abortion supporters) had linked this video on it.

My favorite part of this is where he compares a unfertilized chicken egg, to a fertilized human egg, and then asks why we don't treat them the same. Obviously you can't treat two things that aren't the same as though they are. He is either ignorant of the difference, or is simply trying to fool people to think they're the same. If the chicken egg were fertilized like the human egg than you wouldn't make an omelet out of it, or at least you wouldn't eat since you would be eating a little chicken body, bones and all.

The second really obvious problem with his point is that we do treat chicken and humans differently. A great way to point this out is to increase the age difference between the animals he was comparing. For instance, if you kill someone, and then eat them you'd be called a cannibal. But if you were to kill and eat a chicken you'd be called a fast food customer. Why should we treat humans better?

Than he goes on to try and say chicken are more decent than people by saying a chicken doesn't go home and beat his hen. What Mr. Carlin doesn't know is that the chicken goes home and rapes his hen, I've seen it while working on a ranch, it's not pretty. Now Mr. Carlin is probably wondering why when a man rapes a women he's charged with rape and locked up, but when a chicken does it it's considered breeding. Why not charge the chicken with rape? Could it be that there is a reason for us having higher standards for humans than we do chickens?

Mr. Carlin really ought to consider getting a middle school or high school education before getting up in front of millions of people and making a fool of himself. I guess it's no wonder they don't have him debate pro-lifers, that would be a real comedy.

Imagine if we had done this after World War II. At the time the P-51 was the best fighter plane in the world, so using this guys logic we should have just made better P-51's. I suppose that would have gone on until we found out that the Russians weren't satisfied with having a plane that was inferior to the P-51 and developed the Mig 15. Of course by the time we would have figured that out we would have gotten behind on technology, lost air superiority, and had many our pilots massacred.

The problem with this guys logic is that we're not designing a plane to fight todays aircraft (as he noted we already have that) we're designing it to fight tomorrows (just like the rest of the world).

Another thing the Air Force doesn't want planes that are "good enough" they want the best.

Failed Terrorist Attacks

I recently ran into some footage several IED attacks that didn't work.

This shows how much the Humvee Armor as changed since the war started.

In this one the Terrorist were too incompetent to set the bombs up correctly. The guy who posted it says that most IED don't work. This if also evident from the intense fear you can hear in these guys voice when the IED's go off.

What you have to love about the comments on these video's. For instance, you'll see a terrorist wannabe say something like this.

Which unsurprisingly causes many to make comments mocking how small that number is. Than at some point you see someone with a picture like this come the to the terrorist wannabes aid.

Recently I noticed some things that I thought were kind of funny. Things that might have not caught my eye if I weren't such a geek or so cheap. You can get a better view of these by double clicking them.

You'll notice that in the mist of things that are supposed to be free downloads they have one that needs to be paid for.

This next one is a screen shot I took from a scene of Law and Order. In it some detectives are interviewing a physicist about a recent murder. They have gone to the physicist lab were his working on one of his theories.
This one takes a little knowledge of math. If you've had basic calculus you've probably noticed that in the back ground he is doing U substitution. Keep in mind that this guy is supposed to have a PHD in physics. It's so basic they might as well have had 1+1=2 written up there as well.

Blairs Plane Nearly Shot Down

It's incredible that something like this could nearly happen.

This would have an odd way for him to go after risking his political career in order to keep his promise to fight the war on terrorism. Luckily they figured it out in time.

Obama Knowlege of US

I guess he's right if he's elected there will be a lot of change. Something tells me with his knowledge of the country, and lack of experience it will be somewhat different the Utopian idea he has painted for his followers.

Caged Kids

This has got to be the sickest story I've ever read.

What happened was the mother was kidnapped by her father back in 1984 when she was 18 years old. Since then she as lived in a underground dungeon that he made for her. During that time he raped her and had several children through her. These kids had never seen the light of day until now.

I just saw this story about Bill Clinton lying about Hillary's harrowing Bosnian landing.

The New York senator had repeatedly described a harrowing scene in Tuzla, Bosnia, in which she and her daughter, Chelsea, had to run for cover as soon as they landed for a visit in 1996. I love this very last part,

I guess he's saying she has become senile rather than a liar. Makes you wonder though if she's able to dream up something like this when it's only eleven o'clock what will she dream up when she gets the three am phone call her campaign likes to make references to?

Why Abortion is Unconstitutional 1 of 2

Recently I've started blogging on another blog called Tech Students for Life. It's a pro life group blog run by Tech's Students for Life. There will be occasions in which I post the same blog on both blogs.

Many people argue that the Supreme Court made abortion a constitutional right in the Rove v. Wade decision. This is mainly because many people are taught in high school and in college that the constitution means whatever the Supreme Court says it does.

I was among the many people who had been taught this and believed it until I read the Lincoln Douglas Debates. I was persuaded that this wasn't the case when I read Lincoln's response to Stephen A. Douglas's assertion that the Supreme Court could not violate the constitution.

" In the second clause of the sixth article, I believe it is, of the Constitution of the United States, we find the following language: “This Constitution and the laws of the United States which shall be made in pursuance thereof; and all treaties made, or which shall be made, under the authority of the United States, shall be the supreme law of the land; and the judges in every State shall be bound thereby, anything in the Constitution or laws of any State to the contrary, notwithstanding.” 20
The essence of the Dred Scott case is compressed into the sentence which I will now read: “Now, as we have already said in an earlier part of this opinion, upon a different point, the right of property in a slave is distinctly and expressly affirmed in the Constitution.”" (Entire debate at Bartleby.com)

I later checked this and found that the part of the constitution he quoted was accurate.

So now at least it's clear that the Supreme Court is not allowed to define the constitution to be whatever they want it to be. This makes sense when you consider that the constitution derives it's legitimacy from that fact that it was voted on by representatives of the people. It would have been irrational for the founding fathers to on the one hand required the states to vote on it before it could be enacted it, or modified, and also allow unelected judges to change it as they saw fit.

Clinton Loses Cool Again

Clinton really seems to have anger problems.

I got a kick out of this part.

"When he finally wound down, Bill was asked what message he wanted the delegates to take away from the meeting.

At that point, a much calmer Clinton outlined his message of party unity.

"It was kind of strange later when he took the stage and told everyone to 'chill out,' " one delegate told us.

"We couldn't help but think he was also talking to himself.""

You have to wonder what would have happened if some people in the audience started laughing at the chill out comment, would he have exploded again?

Another thing I thought was interesting is how he keeps talking about how unfair the media has been recently. Apparently, Bill can't take it when they aren't fawning all over him the way they used to; this is especially true when they have the nerve to ask him or Hillary to answer tough questions.

He does have a point though, the way the media has been treating him recently is unprecedented, this must be the first time the media has ever asked a politician difficult questions. Or tried to skew stories in an attempt to persuade people to think one thing or another. This must be the dawn of a new era in which politicians need to consider what difficult questions they may be asked before they get questioned by a reporter. Clearly this is unlike anything this country has ever experienced before.

Anti War Protesters Desecrate Mass

This sort of thing makes my blood boil.

Something worth pondering is why these people would do something like this during the mass? Of all the places that they could have done something like this they chose the mass. They can't claim that the cardinal can change foreign policy, as far as I know he hasn't been elected to public office. It can't be claimed that the church has a stance that is in support of the war, except for initial invasion in which the pope said he didn't agree with it, the church has been pretty neutral on it, which for the most part it should. So then why would they target a Catholic Mass?

One of the things that that I'm not buying is their claim that they are Catholic's. In reality, no Catholic would ever do this, no real Catholic has this little respect for the mass. People can claim to be Catholic and do this but in reality they're not. Any real Catholic knows that the mass is too sacred to abuse it to make a political statement.

It's obvious that the people who thought of this clearly looks at religion in disdain. They figured that this would be a great way to get attention, and make it look as though there is discord in the church by having these people pose as Catholics who are upset with the church.

This is yet another great story that I've found on the Drudgereport.

You've got to love how they are trying to force these people to be PC. So now we can't use lunatic. They need to ask themselves if this has ever worked in the past.

A good example of a case were it hasn't is the word gay. In the eighties liberals tried to change peoples perception of homosexuality by changing it's name to a word with a positive meaning like gay. But it didn't work, the only thing that changed was the meaning of gay. Now if you were to ask someone what gay means they wouldn't say merry, lively mood: gay spirits; gay music. They'd say it means homosexual or weird.

The fact of the matter is you might be able to change the word people use but you won't be able to change the thought.

Bygone Entertainment

These days there really isn't a whole lot of reason to even own a TV, or go to the movies. I rarely watch TV anymore, and whenever I do I rarely find anything worth watching. Luckily the same can't be said for the Internet. One of the things that I think is really cool about the Internet is that it allows you to be entertained the way our grandparents were.

A great example of this is 1710 Antioch. It a station that plays the old radio shows from around the 20's to 50's time zone. Some that are worthwhile listening too are Signal Gases the Whistler. Another great one is Dragnet, it's based on actual police cases. In a lot of ways it reminds me a lot of Law and Order. Another thing I like about this station is that they also play the old Cigarette ads. You'll be shocked by how many of them they had, it's no wonder everyone smoked back then.

Another thing worth checking out are Youtube video's by NostalgicTV. There are a lot of old Little Rascal or Our Gang films on there.

It makes you wonder how entertainment was able to degenerate into what it is now.

More On The Advocate

Not too long ago Aggie Catholics had a link to this follow up story of the Advocate.

"Planned Parenthood of Idaho officials apologized Wednesday for what they called an employee's "serious mistake" in encouraging a donation aimed at aborting black babies.

They also criticized The Advocate, a right-to-life student magazine at the University of California-Los Angeles, for trying to discredit Planned Parenthood employees in seven states in a series of tape-recorded phone calls last summer." Idahostatesman.com

You've got to love this, they say that what they did was wrong, but that the Advocate was wrong for exposing it. Really, who discredited who? Was it the advocate who said they were excited to take money from a racist for the purposes of eliminating blacks? If Planned Parenthood had run their business in a ethical manner they wouldn't have looked bad.

On the bright side at least Planned Parenthood isn't threatening to sue them this time around. This was Planned Parenthood's response to The Advocate exposing them for covering up statutory rape.

I just saw a story linked on the Drudge Report about a Texas town that got mud rain. The first thing I thought when I saw the headline is is this news?

"Many of you called and email about what looked like mud falling from the sky late Tuesday afternoon. By sundown, everything was coated in dirt.

People weren't sure if it was pollution, but it was getting all over cars and windows.

"I don't know, I've never seen this before," said Magne Turoy, who is from Norway. "I'm used to rain, lots of rain, but I've never seen this before."" Woai.com

These people must not get out much, I thought everyone in Texas knew what a mud storm was.

I love the question about whether it was caused by pollution. How much pollution do they have? They must have a lot more pollution than us and a lot less sand storms. One wonders how long it will be before we'll see "experts" on TV who will warn us that this is only the beginning, and if we don't turn from our evil polluting ways global warming will cause more stuff like this. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that a mud storm is caused by a dust storm running into a rain storm.

I like the way Mike Leach looks at it. He's right how often do you get to see a mud storm?

D.C. Gun Ban in Supreme Court

Today the Supreme Court heard oral arguments about the D.C. gun ban. From what I've been reading it sounds like justice Kennedy looked at it from the point of view that the 2nd amendment was meant to be in addition to the militia, and that the individual has the right to bear arms whether or not they are a part of a militia.

"Despite mountains of scholarly research, enough books to fill a library shelf and decades of political battles about gun control, the Supreme Court will have an opportunity this week that is almost unique for a modern court when it examines whether the District's handgun ban violates the Second Amendment.

Not too long ago I ran into a story about how the Advocate a pro-life magazine in UCLA caught Planned Parenthood taking money for the states purpose of eliminating blacks.
